What can shareholders expect in their share?
Besides the beef and lamb that’s part of their subscription, CSA members receive a monthly e-newsletter with farm news, recipes, and upcoming event information.
CSA members can also purchase at distribution any of the other products offered by Homespun Hill Farm, such as: Pastured Chicken and Turkey, Stewing Hens, and Farm-Fresh Eggs.

What makes Homespun Hills’ CSA unique?
Homespun Hill Farm started its CSA in 2008 and is entering its fourth year. One of the few “meat CSAs” available in the Kansas City metro, Homespun Hill’s CSA runs year-round. Debbie and husband Steve have been farming for over 10 years, although Steve’s parents have been at it for over 40! Exclusively organic practices (including no chemicals) are used at Homespun Hill, though they are not certified organic.
At this time, Homespun Hill does not require its CSA members help at the farm or distribution sites; however, volunteers are welcome (please contact Debbie to schedule a visit). Even if you can’t make it out to the farm, feel free to come meet the Homespun Hill farmers at the Baldwin City Maple Leaf Festival in October!
You can also find Homespun Hill’s grass-fed lamb at the Community Mercantile in Lawrence.
Homespun Hill Farm is also a member of the Kansas City Food Circle.
