The luscious spot in the middle of this bed is where the peanuts were last year. Peanuts are a legume; they fix nitrogen in the soil, which makes the next crop grow like crazy!

WHAT MAKES GREELEY GARDENS UNIQUE: Greeley Gardens is a truly urban farm. Situated on two vacant lots in the Quindaro neighborhood of Kansas City, KS, this is a fledgling project of neighborhood revitalization, renewal of the urban landscape, and re-connection to the land within the city limits. Warren incorporates youth from the neighborhood in the planning, production, and sales of the produce. 2010 is the second year of Warren’s CSA, and he has been farming for two years, working with the KCCUA and other farmers to hone his craft. Warren espouses exclusive organic practices, and is working toward organic certification this year!
Shareholders are not required to work on the farm, but volunteers are welcome at any time — contact Warren to schedule your visit!
