MotUV crop mob at Badseed Farm this Saturday!

by season on August 4th, 2010

Our friends at MotUV (Motion for the Unified Voice) have organized a crop mob this Saturday, from 1:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., to help our favorite Badseeds, Brooke Salvaggio and Dan Heryer, break in their new farm!  From MotUV’s Facebook event page:

Our friends at BADSEED Farm have invited the MotUV gang to come play at their new farm site. It is a 13 acre monster project and is being started from scratch. Anybody with willing, able hands who is interested in seeing a sustainable/diversified farm built from the ground-up is welcome and encouraged to come out and see what they can do to help.

Brooke and Dan have been key players in the forward progression of Kansas City Urban Agriculture. They’re truly good people doing a swell job of living the right way. They deserve a few helping hands more than anyone I know.   So please, let’s show Badseed some local support. You can work as little, or as long as you’d like.

**Bring plenty of water. There are no facilities on the land. It is completely raw. I have a feeling the MOTUV crew won’t mind ‘back-woodsing’ it, but there is a gas station nearby if anyone needs a more kushy bathroom.

We’ll be on the Motuv Farm (30th & Harrison, KCMO) that morning. We plan on heading out for Badseed’s new property around 1:30pm. Let’s be sustainable and carpool!!!

Please only RSVP if you REALLY plan on coming out. We would like to have a rough hand-count so we can make sure there are enough supplies.

And as always, thanks for all your continued support. You guys rock!

RSVP and seek answers to any questions you may have at MotUV’s Facebook page.  I’m sure that if you’re able to bring your own shovel, gloves, hat, rakes, etc., it would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see you there!
